Reunión durante la conferencia de AAG

Un grupo de funcionarios y de representantes nacionales de las diversas organizaciones especializadas de la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA) se unieron recientemente para ensanchar la comprensión de las diversas iniciativas institucionales, para considerar las prioridades que afectan al hemisferio, y para consolidar al colaboración entre los intereses respectivos de las organizaciones espcializadas de la OEA. La Sección Nacional de los Estados Unidos (USNS) del Instituto Panamericano de la Geografía e Historia (IPGH) llevó a cabo esta reunion y tuvo un evento de "Meet-and-Greet" durante la reunión anual de la Asociación de Geógrafos Americanos (AAG) en Washington, DC el viernes 15 de abril del 2010. Entre los asistentes se encontraron representantes de las comisiones de Geografía, Cartografía, y de Historia del IPGH así como los huéspedes especiales de las organizaciones especializadas de la OEA, a saber, el Institutio Inter-Americano para la Cooperación en la Agricultura (IICA), la Organización Panamericana para la Salud (PAHO), y la Comisión Inter-Americana de las Mujeres (CIM). El acontecimiento fue recibido por la AAG y la Comisión Nacional de la Geografía de la Sección Nacional de los Estados Unidos durante la conferencía disciplinaria académica e científica más grande del mundo, asistida por unos estimados 8.200 escolares y profesionales de más de 75 países.
