In July, Dr. C.W. Minkel travelled to Peru for the dedication of a book/atlas entitled Analisis Urbano de Piura-Castilla, Peru, 2005. This publication summarizes the results of a five-year research project conducted by him and his Peruvian colleagues designed to facilitate planning in this fifth-largest urban center in Peru and largest in the Peru-Ecuador boundary region. Topics include population-migration, urban land use, industrial development, commerce, government and socio-cultural institutions. Partial support for the research was provided by the PAIGH, by the National University of Piura and by the University of Tennessee.
