The award consists of a medal and a diploma. The award will be granted
to a researcher or institution that the Panel of Judges considers has
contributed in the most significant manner to the science of geography
within the PAIGH during the period between General Assemblies.
The Panel of Judges will consist of: the Vice-Chairperson of the Commission
on Geography and four representatives accredited by four Member States
present at the Meeting of Consultation, to be elected during the first
Plenary Session of that event.
The nomination must be accompanied by a brief document indicating the
merits of the candidate, highlighting his/her contribution to the activities
of the PAIGH in the field of geography.
National Sections are requested to send their nominations to the Commission
on Geography.
It is important to emphasize that the person or institution nominated
may be from any Member State and not necessarily from the country submitting
the nomination.
