Participation of the Secretary General of the PAIGH in the FES-Acatl\u00e1n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH), participated in the colloquium \u201cAcatl\u00e1n: Half a Century in the Professionalization of History. Assessments and Challenges,\u201d<\/em> held at the Acatl\u00e1n Faculty of Higher Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the Secretary General presented the paper \u201cMilitary History, What For?\u201d, in which he highlighted the relevance of this discipline for understanding historical processes. The activity was organized by the Academic Section of History, as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Acatl\u00e1n Faculty of Higher Studies of the UNAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MA, Campuzano Rosales expressed his gratitude to Mr. Jos\u00e9 Trinidad C\u00e1zarez Mata, Head of the Academic Section of History of the Humanities Program at FES Acatl\u00e1n, for the invitation to this important academic meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n

Visit by the Secretary General of the PAIGH to the Bolivian Embassy in Mexico<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH), visited the Bolivian Embassy in Mexico, where he was received by Ambassador Jos\u00e9 Crespo for a working meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening ties of collaboration between the PAIGH and its Member States was highlighted, promoting the participation of the Bolivian scientific community in the Institute’s programs, such as Technical Assistance and Publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic collaboration was also emphasized, considering that Ambassador Crespo will participate in a discussion at the PAIGH headquarters in October 2025 related to one of the academic projects financed through the Technical Assistance Program (PAT) of this international organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virtual presentation of the work “Pan American Congress on the Teaching of History. Memories”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The History Commission of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH) held the virtual presentation of the work “Pan American Congress on the Teaching of History. Memories.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The publication brings together 28 papers presented in August 2024 during the virtual Congress of the same name, with the participation of professors and researchers from 19 countries in the Americas, including Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, Dr. Filiberto Cruz S\u00e1nchez, President of the History Commission and compiler of the work, opened the meeting by thanking Dr. Patricia Sol\u00eds, President of the PAIGH, and MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the Institute, for their participation. He also highlighted the presence of Dr. Reina Rosario, Vice President of the History Commission, and Dr. Adriana Garc\u00eda, Coordinator of the Working Committee on the Teaching of History at the PAIGH, as well as the speakers who made the publication possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cruz emphasized that this work invites reflection on the importance of keeping the teaching of history alive, a discipline that faces major challenges today. This book constitutes a collective effort to preserve and promote the study of history in the Americas, offering researchers, teachers, and students a valuable reference to strengthen the teaching of this discipline, essential to the identity and memory of the peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting of the Advisory Committee on Financial Planning and Evaluation (APEF)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A meeting of the Advisory Committee on Financial Planning and Evaluation (APEF) of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH) was held virtually, within the framework of Guiding Principle III of the General Secretariat’s Strategic Modernization Plan 2022\u20132025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Committee’s objective is to oversee the Institute’s financial health. It is composed of: Dr. Patricia Sol\u00eds, President of the PAIGH; My (R) Ing. Geo. Marcelo Fabi\u00e1n Ancarola, President of the National Section of Argentina; and Col. Andr\u00e9s Moraes, President of the National Section of Uruguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the following activities were carried out: presentation of the members of the APEF Committee, presentation of the 2024 Financial Report, presentation of the Audit Report, and presentation of the 2026 Budget Proposal. In addition, Geo. Marcelo Fabi\u00e1n Ancarola was welcomed as a new member of the Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n

Virtual meeting with the National Section of Honduras for the 26th<\/sup> General Assembly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH), held a virtual meeting with Mrs. Leidy Ulloa, President of the PAIGH National Section in Honduras, and Mr. Horacio Ezequiel Padilla, Geography Coordinator for the General Directorate of Cartography and Geography of the Property Institute of that country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meeting was part of the preparations for the 26th<\/sup> General Assembly of the PAIGH, scheduled for October 13-17, 2025, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. During the meeting, the details of the technical and logistical organization of the Assembly were reviewed and adjusted. The Secretary General reiterated his ongoing support for the National Section of Honduras, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration between the PAIGH Authorities and its Member States, in accordance with the PAIGH Strategic Modernization Plan 2022\u20132025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAIGH participation in the 15th<\/sup> Session of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secretary General of the Pan American Institute of Geography and History, MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, represented the Pan American community grouped under the PAIGH at the Fifteenth Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management, held from August 6 to 8, 2025, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the third consecutive year, MA. Campuzano actively participated in this international forum, where he had five interventions on strategic topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
