MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the PAIGH, responded to the invitation made by the Secretariat for Foreign Relations of Mexico, to participate, as member of the diplomatic corps, at the 35th<\/sup> Meeting of Embassy and Consulate Heads – 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the inauguration event, Foreign Relations Minister Alicia B\u00e1rcena emphasized that this meeting was focused on \u201creceiving and listening to the leaders of our diplomatic offices in the world\u201d. She highlighted the theme of the meeting: \u201cFor a diplomacy of convictions: closeness, humane, and egalitarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, relations between the PAIGH General Secretariat and the government of the country hosting the headquarters of this international organization are strengthened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting had the purpose of defining details for preparing the 96th<\/sup> Anniversary of this international organization, to be held on the next 7th <\/sup>of February at the Palace building of the headquarters (Mexico City).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Virtual meeting about the preparations for the subsequent meetings of UN-GGIM: Americas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PAIGH Secretary General held a work meeting with Sof\u00eda Nilo Cris\u00f3stomo and Leonardo Scharth Loureiro Silva, President and Vice-President of the UN-GGIM: Americas, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of this session was to continue with the preparations for the coming meetings of the UN-GGIM: Americas, to be held in the city of Mexico during the last quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her part, Sof\u00eda Nilo highlighted the collaboration between both institutions, which results in benefits for the participating countries of the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, MA. Campuzano re-confirmed the commitment of the PAIGH to supporting various international organizations in the performance of their fundamental functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remote meeting with managers of the OAS Office for the Belize-Guatemala Adjacency Zone<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A remote, virtual meeting was held with the managers of the Office of the Organization of American States (OEA) for the Belize-Guatemala Adjacency Zone, Amb. Agust\u00edn Espinosa and Sergio L\u00f3pez Vivanco, accompanied by Sof\u00eda Cu\u00e9llar Hern\u00e1ndez, the Verification Official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Adjacency Zone Office requested support from the Pan American Institute of Geography and History in order to manage the on-site training in geo-referencing for its staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the motto that governs the PAIGH under the current administration is \u201cScience in the Service of Peace\u201d and seeing that this desire is taking material form here, work is done in a joint effort between the various organizations in order to achieve the well-being of the fraternal countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handover of bibliographic collections to El Salvador<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the objective of enriching the stocks of the new National Library of El Salvador, on a protocol visit to the Palace building headquarters of the PAIGH, Mrs. Rosa Delmy Caba\u00f1as, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador, received as a donation of bibliographic material and journals, approximately 500 titles that are part of the editions published over the 96 years of this Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his welcome speech, MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the PAIGH, gave congratulations for the visit of the lady Ambassador, and at the same time, he stated that, with this donation, the PAIGH fulfils its function of working for the scientific development of the countries of the American continent, putting into material form the motto of the current administration: \u201cScience in the Service of Peace\u201d. For her part, Ambassador Caba\u00f1as, gave thanks for feeling honored by the reception at the Palace building headquarters of the PAIGH; she pointed out the importance of the scientific production of the PAIGH, which shall enrich the cultural policy that El Salvador, Member State of this specialized organization is putting into effect. \u201cBooks are our allies\u201d, she stated specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PAIGH Secretary General held a virtual meeting with the Presidents of the Commissions of this Institute: Max A. Lobo Hern\u00e1ndez (Cartography), Hermann Manr\u00edquez Tirado (Geography), Filiberto Cruz S\u00e1nchez (History) and Mario C. Ruiz Romero (Geophysics). This work session is within the framework of the objectives of the Strategic Modernization Plan of the PAIGH for 2022-2025, especially in planning the tasks of the PAIGH for the following years in the matters of the budget, the Pan American Agenda and the Commission Consultation Meetings.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the PAIGH, attended the meeting for the rendering up of the 4th<\/sup> Report on Activities of MA. Rub\u00e9n Ruiz Guerra, Director of the Latin America and Caribbean Research Center (CIALC) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event took place in the Humanities (Tower II building) of the University City and was chaired by Dr. Leonardo Lomel\u00ed Vanegas, Rector of the UNAM and by Dr. Miguel A. L\u00f3pez Leyva, Coordinator of Humanities of that same institution, in addition to the presence of notable figures such as doctors Patricia Galeana and Rigoberta Mench\u00fa (Nobel prize for Peace, 1992). 
Within the report, the mention of the work done between the PAIGH and the CIALC, through the grant program for the History of America Diploma, run through virtual media, should be pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commemorative ceremony on the occasion of the birth and passage to immortality of the Nicaraguan poet, Rub\u00e9n Dar\u00edo (1867-1916), who was also a writer, journalist, and diplomat. MA. Antonio Campuzano Rosales, Secretary General of the PAIGH, responded to the invitation of his Excellency, Mr. Juan Carlos Guti\u00e9rrez Madrigal, Ambassador of Nicaragua in Mexico, who, during the event, placed a floral offering in honor of this outstanding figure.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
