These are the bodies responsible for promoting, coordinating, and disseminating scientific and technical development in their respective fields of action in Member States through PAIGH programs.
In carrying out their work, the Commissions are supported by the General Secretariat and the National Sections.
The PAIGH Commissions are:
- Cartography Commission;
- Geography Commission;
- History Commission; and
- Geophysics Commission.
For the period of its term, each Commission establishes the Committees and Working Groups necessary for the development of the scientific strategy, which is defined by the General Assembly through joint and coordinated work with the proposals of specialists.
