It is the organ whose purpose is to:
- To carry out the administrative acts of the Institute;
- To coordinate the activities of the organs of PAIGH;
- To provide the necessary assistance for the functioning of the organs of PAIGH and the National Sections;
- To execute those tasks entrusted to it by the General Assembly; and
- To ensure compliance with the decisions adopted by the organs of PAIGH.
The General Secretariat is located at the Palacio headquarters in Mexico City and is headed by a General Secretary , who is elected by the General Assembly.
