This major event took place in the Palace building headquarters of the PAIGH.

Within the program of presentations about this important book, his Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Mexico, Huh Tae-wan, pointed out the academic, scientific, and cultural relevance of the National Atlas of Korea, in its version printed in Spanish. In addition, he recognized the Pan American Institute of Geography and History as the reputable center of research in geography and history in the region.

Moreover, he stated his respect and admiration for Dr. Su Jim Lim and for her team of contributors, due to the hard work performed during the year, for bringing this edition of the Atlas into the public sphere.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Mexico, added that, since 2017, the government of his country annually publishes the atlas with the objective of facilitating knowledge of geography, history and culture; for this reason, periodically the Government of Korea works hard on improving the quality and accuracy of the book.

He also stated that: “The book is an excellent opportunity to deepen the mutual understanding, not only between Korea and Mexico but also between Korea and all the other member countries of the PAIGH”.

Finally, he repeated his thanks to MA. Campuzano, for the support in the organization of this event, while at the same time confirming again the commitment of the Embassy of Korea to continue cooperating with the PAIGH.

The work schedule of the General Secretariat of the PAIGH gives continuity to its meetings for collaboration with scientific and technical institutions and organizations. On this occasion, the issue discussed was that of the prevention of hazards arising from climate change.
Regional collaboration with international entities is of great importance for this international organization, as this leads to the implementation, progress towards and fulfilment of the objectives set out in the Strategic Plan for 2022-2025.
