Objectives
- Study the historical processes of the American peoples.
- Study current realities and their impact on the future of the continent.
- Promote the preservation and study of cultural heritage, archaeological remains, and historical monuments in the Americas and the Caribbean.
- Contribute to the study and dissemination of works and documents related to the history of the Americas that are preserved in other parts of the world.
- Promote research and disseminate it in publications of scientific value, as well as republish works that are out of print.
- Foster mutual understanding and collaboration.
- Promote the training of high-level specialists.
- Contribute to academic and scientific exchange and links with international organizations.
- Promote cooperation between institutions dedicated to historical studies in the Americas and with related international organizations.
Goals
- Promote research, teaching, and dissemination of Pan-American history.
- Follow up on technical cooperation projects.
- Encourage professionalization in the teaching of history, from elementary to higher education.
- Resume support for regional history conferences.
- Follow up on institutional agreements.
- Expand coverage of historical topics in various media (multimedia, internet, and social networks).
- Continue to produce the History Commission’s monthly newsletter.
- Create a database with information on American historians.
